A psychologist in Santa Barbara, seeing clients online

I'm Bella Weininger, a licensed psychologist based in Santa Barbara. Sessions are held by secure video, whether you're downtown, in Goleta or Montecito, up in San Luis Obispo, or anywhere else in California.

Looking okay from the outside is its own kind of tired.

Santa Barbara is a place people move to because life is supposed to feel good here, and that expectation can make it strangely hard to admit when it doesn't. Many of my clients hold successful, put-together lives while privately running on patterns that drain them: pleasing everyone, perfecting everything, managing the feelings of the whole room.

That's the work I do: people-pleasing, perfectionism, and codependent patterns, through a psychodynamic lens with mindfulness and somatic practice woven in.

Video sessions, deliberately

My practice is fully telehealth. It keeps therapy inside your actual life rather than another appointment to commute to, and in a town this size it also offers something an office can't: privacy. No shared waiting room, no running into someone you know on State Street on the way in.

All you need is a private space and a decent connection. The depth of the work comes with us.

Starting is simple

A free 15-minute call, then we both decide.

Send a note through the contact page with a little about what's bringing you to therapy right now. I'll reply within two business days to set up a consultation call, and we'll see whether working together feels right.

I maintain a selective caseload to keep the work focused, and I currently have availability for new Santa Barbara and California clients.
